The BFF is delighted to announce that Bill LeVasseur will be this year’s host of the party! After serving 5 years as the youngest F-16 Crew Chief in the U.S. Air Force during Desert Storm, Bill LeVasseur started a modeling career in New York City with "Click". He quickly discovered acting, and booked his first lead role in a short film called "Torn", which won ‘Best Asian-American Romantic Short’ at the New York Independent International Film Festival. Following the short, Bill was cast for the lead in his first feature, “Ryan’s Babe”. Later, he moved to Hollywood to perform in such hit T.V. shows as "Melrose Place", "Days of Our Lives", and "The West Wing", and films like “The Postman”, with Kevin Costner. After moving to Denver, he formed his film and promotional company, BLinc Pictures where he produced and directed many films including “The Morning After”, “Dying to Eat”, and “Izzno Wyatt”. Bill recently acted in the films “Broken Fences”, “Juncture”, “Text”, “Tuesday Morning”, and “Standards of Ethical Conduct”, and just wrapped as the lead in the feature “Serotonin Rising”, which he also produced. One highlight of his career was being cast to star opposite Dennis Hopper in the Starz series “Crash” in 2009. For the past 15 years, he has been trusted to be the face of any multimillion dollar companies, including Dish Network, Mobanu, Coors, and more. He is also co-host of the Breckenridge Film Festival and the Miss Colorado pageant. You can see Bill on Network T.V. hosting the hit show “Backyard Genius” with his best friend Ryan Parker.
Each year, the Breckenridge Film Festival is hosted by renowned Film Critic, Jeffrey Lyons, along with his son Ben Lyons, the E! Network Daily Top 10’s film critic. Settle into a comfy theater seat with some of the world’s greatest independent filmmakers for some of the 51 independent drama, comedy, spiritual, and documentary films. Filmlovers will relish in a unique and varied array of independent films, premieres, receptions, educational programs and retrospectives.
"There is no Festival like Breckenridge. A large Indie presence, Colorado premiers of feature films, up-close and personal with the stars but with a warmth and intimacy all its own... even if it snows in June!!! We've been doing this for 27 years. We're good at it" — Jeffrey Lyons

The GLBT Films of the Breckenridge Film Festival offers people an opportunity to explore issues dealing with the homosexual, bisexual and transgender community in a safe, entertaining environment. The GLBT Film Series is a festival within a larger non-GLBT festival. Because of this, the Breck Film Fest is able to give our filmmakers the chance to have their work shown to a larger and more diverse audience, and in the process cross boundaries and break stereotypes within the straight community. During our 2006 Festival, the film Coffee Date , was the first GLBT film to be presented with an audience favorite award for the larger festival.
Most of the films we show are submitted directly to the Film Festival while others are acquired from Festivals such as Sundance and the Gay and Lesbian Film Festivals of New York, San Francisco, and Miami. Most if not all films are Colorado debuts.
The Breckenridge Film Festival was established in 1981, making it one of the oldest film festivals in the country. It is a 501(c)(3), private, non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Funding for the Festival comes from local public and private grants, sponsorships, fundraising events, individual contributions, in-kind assistance, and revenue from tickets and merchandise. More than 150 individual volunteers, four local theaters and other venues are involved in this annual event.
The mission of the Breckenridge Film Festival is to enrich lives through the ideas and emotions inspired by the art of filmmaking. The Festival is also a means to celebrate independent filmmakers, enrich the cultural community of Summit County, Colorado, and provide a educational, creative and inspirational learning environment where participants can focus on their craft and interact intimately with guest filmmakers and mentors through a four-day annual film festival and throughout the year.
