RESORTQUEST BRECKENRIDGE CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW BRECK CONNECT GONDOLA

January 6, 2007, Breckenridge, Colorado – Breckenridge has reached a new milestone in its development with the opening of the new BreckConnect Gondola.  On Sunday, December 31, 2006, the gondola carried its first passengers to the mountain base.  With room for eight, the gondola connects Breckenridge’s main parking lot off Main Street with the ski resorts Peak 7 and 8 base areas.  ResortQuest Breckenridge offers a full selection of lodging choices in Breckenridge, including a host of vacation rentals, just steps from the new gondola, on Main Street, or slopeside to the Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The gondola has a mid-station stop at Shock Hill and continues onto a terminal at Peak 8. Another terminal at Peak 7 is scheduled to open in 2008.  The gondola was designed in an effort to improve base transportation for day skiers driving from the Front Range.  It has improved access to the mountain, by eliminating the need for shuttle transfers and decreasing the transportation time from parking to base to approximately eight minutes.  The resort plans to operate the gondola during both winter and summer seasons.
