The Town of Breckenridge, Colorado

Breckenridge is the oldest town in Summit County and has a beautiful mix of modern buildings with original architecture. Breckenridge is also home to the world class ski resort that hosts miles of open land winter or summer.
"Breckenridge #8:
That diversity of terrain, which “keeps the whole family happy,” is the name of Breck’s game, and what keeps the crowds coming for more. If there wasn’t something for everyone, everyone wouldn’t be here."- Ski Magazine Aug. 2010
"The League congratulates Breckenridge for implementing successful, long-term bicycle plans that provide quality of life improvements for their citizens.” The League is recognizing 15 new Bicycle Friendly Communities, including Breckenridge." June 2010
"This former mining town, unlike its upscale Colorado neighbors, Vail and Aspen, still exudes a crunchy, laid-back vibe. But Breckenridge also has a new shine. Multimillion-dollar condos now loom over old miners’ cabins. The year-old BreckConnect Gondola soars over pine forests cleared for luxury homes. And in the historic downtown, wine bars serving marinated olives are taking the place of honky-tonks with beer and Buffalo wings. Still, it’s your gnarly moves, not your designer outfit, that gets locals stoked." New York Times -Jan. 20, 2008
"Many ski resorts say they offer something for everyone, but Breckenridge truly does. Its 30 lifts transport skiers and snowboarders to 155 trails, which offer a balanced mix of beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert terrain. Breckenridge is located in an historic Victorian mining town, which boasts an endless variety of off-slope activities. History lovers explore its free museums. Art, music and theater aficionados visit its thriving arts district. Hedonists luxuriate in the town's extensive network of spa facilities." -USA Today Travel
